Spirituality
Following the example of the Apostles we join hands with Mary the mother of Jesus, in all prayer. Inspired by her we received God’s word in faith, ponder it in our hearts and allow it to form us for Christ and his mission.
Our Vowed Life
Prompted by God’s grace we follow Christ by dedicating ourselves entirely to God in a life of consecrated chastity, poverty and obedience (Const. 4).
The consecration which is a fuller expression of the consecration of Baptism strengthens our life long covenant of love with God (Const. 4).
Community
By the power of the Holy Spirit we are called to share in the life of the Trinity, the community of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit who are totally given to each in mutual knowledge and love (Const. 46)Our life in community is built on shared faith, supportive prayer and a common vision (Const. 47).
Prayer Life
Our life of prayer is the work of the Holy Spirit who teaches us to pray in truth and love the intimate word “Abba” (Const. 1983, 30).
The founder desired this form of life for the sisters. He called for a life of prayer rooted in passion for the poor, in the daily life of the people and in the Mystery of Christ in every person. He urged the sisters never to cease to pray for the preservation of this virtue; and to oftenly receive the Sacraments and cultivate a personal devotion to Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and to Our Blessed Lady (Const. 1962, 62). All our work and apostolates are grounded in prayer. He encouraged a liturgical prayer that manifests itself in service.
Services
Rooted in the Carmelite tradition, we in turn are sent by our Congregation to fulfill our mission and to carry out the service and work of love entrusted to us by the Church.
Our Dressing
As Carmelite Sisters our dressing consists of a plain dark brown habit, a blue veil, a medal of Our Lady on a chain worn over the neck and a white mantle worn on Sundays and Solemnities.
